Children I
Ages 3-4

Classes introduce the children to a classroom situation in a relaxed way through fun and challenging work. It introduces the children to the beauty and grace of dance arts while infusing musicality and rhythm. They learn socialization skills, improve coordination abilities, and develop their imagination. Gentle flexibility and strengthening exercises are done on the floor, and are made fun and enjoyable. ​

Children II + III Class
Ages 5-6

Classes incorporate the skills and activities from Children 1, but on a higher, age-appropriate level. Dancers begin to learn basic ballet positions, basic steps, and their French terminology. Physical coordination is increased with plies, stretching, splits and jumps. Counting music while dancing is introduced.

Performances

Children Division is encouraged to participate in our annual production of The Nutcracker, as well as our other full length ballet productions, like Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Wizard of Oz. No recitals at West Point Ballet, we create professional, fun, and beautiful ballet productions that include all our students.

Dress Code

We ask for hair to be neatly pulled back in a secure bun. Lilac leotard (no skirt attached), pink tights, and pink leather ballet slippers. No jewelry should be worn during class. See dress code page for more details.
